Philly’s Best

Philly’s Best

Straight from Philadelphia,
there’s no place in Chicago like Philly’s Best
With the most authentic cheese-steak sandwich in Chicago,
this place is better than the rest
Quality beef, hot cheese, all in a soft Philly-made bread
Ingredients are imported straight from Philadelphia,
and all the good flavor will make you go crazy in the head!

Along with their large portions are menu items such as Philly fries
Served with their white cheese Philly sauce…
something your taste buds would love to give a try
And then there’s the favored Philly Cheese Steak Egg rolls, which may make you lose control,
with a taste that you will feel right in your soul!

A cheese-steak sandwich could be served on garlic bread if you choose,
and with each bite you gain a taste of Philly and there’s nothing you lose
All sandwiches come out piping hot and ready to eat,
and they have the classic Tastykakes, if after your meal you’re craving a sweet Philly treat

This is a home away from home and in three locations throughout Chi-city!
Put on that Eagle’s hat,
finish reading this poem,
and get down to the Philly nitty-gritty!

Oh, that looks wonderful! (How humiliating it is that I live as close to Philly as I do, but have never had a cheesesteak.) Happy eating, and thanks for stopping by eve’s apple! ~Marisa (mcproco.wordpress.com)

Love good a cheesesteak! When we go home to South Jersey at Christmas we get a cheese steak from our favorite deli.

I’m exiled from Philly area to SoCal and here Philly’s Best is also the most authentic cheese steak. I even met a kid that went to my High School working at one out here. Closest thing to a Hoagie though is Jersey Mikes Original Italian.
Maybe the best part about going to Philly’s Best is being able to get some Goldberg Chews, some Tasteykakes or Franks sodas.

I used to work in Allentown and got to Phila. frequently. Hard to get even a bogus steak sandwich in vegas where I now live. Have you ever tried Bookbinders Snapper soup as it is another Philly and Delaware County specialty? Even Amazon sells the canned version, but restaurant is better.

Thanks for visiting my Midwest Maize blog, Donna. I don’t live in Chicago but I’m close enough to enjoy having a recommendation for my next visit — and that Philly Steak sandwich looks mighty tasty.

Lots of fun reading your posts! I’ve also picked out a few new places to try next time I’m home.

I always make time for the Philly’s Best in Greektown when I’m in town – amazing!

Have you ever tried the Canadian specialty, Poutine? The Venetian in Las Vegas has the best this side of Quebec City.

Philly here and never EVER had my steak wit wiz. And never will. And we don’t all say ‘wit,’ either.
Never ever had a bad steak sandwich anywhere. Ever. Some are better than others, but all in all, not one is ever bad.
    Cute blog you have…

I’ve always heard about these Philly cheese-steak sandwiches and wanted to try one. Not sure what they might be offering up in SF Bay Area might do it justice though. Very nice piece.

My favorite sandwich in all the world. I have at least one a week (made at home with lots of grilled onions and extra cheese) and I shall never eat another one without remembering your poem. Very much enjoyed.

I would have thought nothing could improve on the perfection of my homemade Philly steak sub, but having it while reading your poem raises the excellence of that perfection!

That sounds really good! I’m glad my poem will be remembered as you eat your Philly sub, which sounds yummy by the way 🙂

I’m from Philly and if they’re as good as you say, It could be cause for concern. We’re supposed to have the best cheesesteaks here! Tasty Kakes too?!

Otherwise, great article. Love the poetry and I will have to look this place up next time I’m in Chi-town.
