11° Degree North

11° Degree North
824 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60657

Bright, upbeat,
even in the cold weather, there’s one place in Chicago where there’s always heat,
and you can find it located in Chicago Cubs territory, right on Belmont street!
11° Degree North will take you somewhere far,
somewhere tropical, where you’ll find limes and coconuts in a jar
You’ll feel like you’re on a beach near the Caribbean Sea,
as you have a cup of coffee surrounded by palm trees,
and with Venezuelan arepas as their specialty, this cafe is the best place to be!

There’s the Take It Easy arepa, filled with Caribbean Ranch, shredded cheddar, and pulled pork,
as you eat your arepa and the fillings drop to your plate, you’ll need to grab a fork!
The La Pelua arepa, with shredded beef, gouda cheese, and a cilantro garlic sauce, is topped with sweet plantains,
it’s a popular arepa that captures the Venezuelan cuisine
For the shrimp lover, the Ocean Breeze arepa is prized,
and with three large shrimp inside, they come at just the perfect size!

The Signature Bowls range from fruity to meaty,
with the Fruity Bowl containing an Acai smoothie with fruits, it’s very sweet-y!
Then there’s a Fishy Bowl, with Shrimp, Smoked Salmon, and veggies like avocado,
with flavor, and freshness to each ingredient, you’ll feel like you won a healthy lotto!
For the morning person, their biscuits and bagels are a go-to,
all with a list of goodies that are fun to go through!
The Eggie Biscuit,
with 2 eggs, tomato and avocado, stuffed in the middle of a flaky biscuit is a hit,
and although it looks big in size, this is one you wouldn’t want to split!
Others include a Meatie, Porkie, or Fruitie Biscuit, depending on your mood,
and their bagels can’t be forgotten, because they show that 11° Degree North has the ultimate breakfast food!

So whether you want to stop by for coffee in what feels like paradise in the windy city,
or you want to try one of their Signature Bowls that always come out looking pretty
From the arepas, to breakfast options, theres room to pick and choose,
From Chicago to the tropics, 11° Degree North is not the place you want to refuse!

I’ve passed by this place so many times while out and about, but I’ve never had the chance to stop in. I think I’ll have to make time to try it now!
